Pocket Communications, the pay-as-you-go wireless phone company, recently launched Pocket Power, its pay-as-you-go electricity service that doesn’t require a credit check, deposit or contract.
Alan Weinkrantz, a company spokesman, said the service will cater to low-income individuals who don’t have the best credit or would like the deposit back from their existing electric provider to use on other necessities.
“Since there are no contracts, a person can sign up with us, pay the first month’s bill up front and get their deposit back from their current provider when they cancel,” Weinkrantz said.

Micro owners and entrepreneurs offer dependent transport of their products and services. However, the rising energy costs make it harder to survive and profit as the owner of the micro.
An online survey by the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE) asked the members, such as rising gas prices affect their business. More than 70 percent of the owners of Micro agree that gasoline prices have risen significantly injured or their business.

The Corpus Christi Army Depot is expected to get its new $10.3 million rotor blade processing facility by October 2011, helping to better meet the depot’s production demands.
The center will be used to repair carbon composite blades used in helicopters. The depot, located at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, is the primary location in South Texas for maintaining and repairing military helicopters.
The depot’s existing facility was designed for small production lines of smaller blades and employees work in cramped conditions. The construction contract for the new 46,885 square-foot facility was awarded to Ewing Construction Co.
