Cub Scout’s Lawn Mowing Empire

June - 28 - 2011 Author: Elizabeth Moore Respond

MyFox9:

It may seem a bit old-fashioned, but one 11-year-old Cub Scout is financing his new dreams by turning into a lawn-mowing mogul.

Despite his age, Bill Breitenstein seems beyond his years and hasn’t gone by “Billy” since kindergarten. Now, he’s going into sixth grade and was yearning for a new mountain bike. So, his father told him about mowing lawns as a kid, and Bill revived the biz.

“I found this mower in my grandpa’s shed. We bought a gas tank and some gas and we’re ready to go,” Breitenstein said.
Thus, Breitenstein became an 11-year-old entrepreneur.

Howd he get started, you ask? With door-to-door flyers. I went to Clip

Using a true professional to sell your house

June - 28 - 2011 Author: Samantha Davis Respond

Many people ask us whether they should hire an agent to sell their home or whether they should first try as a For Sale by Owner (FSBO). In today’s volatile market, we believe this is an easy decision: you need an experienced professional!

An expert guide

The field of real estate is loaded with land mines. You need a true expert to guide you through the dangerous pitfalls that currently exist. Finding a buyer willing to pay fair market value for your home at a time that there are mass inventories of foreclosures and short sales will take a true real estate professional. A skilled negotiator

In today’s market, hiring a talented negotiator could save you thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of dollars. Each st

Skating On Carpet

June - 28 - 2011 Author: Elizabeth Moore Respond

For Don Edwards, it began with a need to move furniture on carpet with ease. In 1993, he designed a product called EZ Moves Furniture Slides. When placed under the edges of a couch or chair, it could move around a carpeted room with ease. What came next he never expected, reports Your Norwin.

Edwards created Fun Slides carpet skates after some of his employees were playing around at a trade show.

They were acting goofy and sliding across the floor with them on their feet, or they would push with them underneath their hands and knees, Edwards said.

After the trade show, Edwards went back to his workshop and attached foot straps to a pair of his furniture slides and created the skates.

He debuted the skates at New York Citys annual International Toy Fair, where he says his skates were a hit.

If youre in the market for a new credit card, weighing the pros and cons of various credit card issuers, heres a new set of data to take into consideration. In its annual study, Javelin Strategy and Research ranks the best and worst issuing organizations when it comes to credit card security.

The Javelin Card Issuer’s Identity Safety Scorecard analyzes the security strength of the top 20 credit card issuers. Scores are based on a 100-point scale. Of those 100 points, up to 45 may be awarded for prevention, 35 for detection and 20 for resolution. Points awarded to the highest and lowest scorers are included in the list below. (Interesting, no credit card company scored above 87 out of 100 no better than a B+.)

According to the Javelin Security Scorecard, the safest credit cards are issued by:

  • Bank of America (87)
  • Discover (74)
  • U.S. B
