Adding to My Fitness Equipment Cheap

February - 12 - 2010 Author: admin Respond

I think I blogged awhile back about how I built my own little home gym by picking up fitness equipment cheap. Actually I picked it for free which is about as cheap as it gets. I was over at a friends house and noticed that he had some workout equipment that he never used. So I asked if he wanted to get rid of it for free. He was more than happy to have me haul it away and get it out of his house. It worked out for the both of us.

I want to add some more free weights to my little gym. I started looking at the major stores and could not believe how much they wanted for some of the equipment. Forget it. If I could hunt down some cardio equipment for free I am sure going to try to find some weights for free. I am going to spend the next few days going through the free ad sites and classified ad websites.

Banking Online: Is It Right For You?

February - 12 - 2010 Author: admin Respond

Many consumers these days choose to bank exclusively online rather than make an appearance at their local branch for money transactions. The reason most people choose the electronic route is because it’s more convenient. A few technophobes may be holding out due to fears of identity theft, but most of those fears are unfounded.

The Pros

Banking online is convenient. You can have access to your account 24/7 and with most brick and mortar banks there are a multitude of services that are offered electronically including money transfers and bill payments. Personal financial experts agree that automating bill payments is an excellent way to boost credit and maintain a positive financial situation because it ensures that bills are paid on time each month. They also agree that automating your savings plan directly from your payroll checks helps increase the rate and amount of savings. This follows the cliché of what you don’t see, you don’t spend. China Raises Bank Reserve Minimums Over Inflation Concerns

February - 11 - 2010 Author: admin Respond

The People’s Bank of China has increased bank reserves minimums by 0.5 percent or 50 basis points. The current reserve requirement is 16 percent of assets for large banks, and 14 percent for smaller institutions.

The Bank has implemented the increase to address record lending levels that officials fear are fueling asset bubbles – particularly property values. The Bank is also dealing with the impact of the 4 trillion yuan stimulus package the government implemented last year to boost the economy.

“There’s a monumental property bubble and fixed-asset investment bubble that China has underway right now,” hedge fund manager James Chanos, founder of New York-based Kynikos Associates Ltd., said in a Jan. 25 Bloomberg Television interview. “Deflating that gently will be difficult at best.”

Do You Trust Bar Codes?

I remember hearing a saying years ago about how computers are only as smart as the person using them. We rely on those POS systems for everything we do. We use them at most stores and restaurants we shop at. Who is to say they are on the money? I check my receipt every time I go shopping. I even started to use the self checkout lines where you can scan your own groceries or goods. That way I can check the price as I scan them instead of watching a person do it at Mach 9.

  1. Tax Tips: How to Maximize Your Tax Deductions?

Spring is a beautiful season. It’s a season where the temperature slowly rises, the snow begins to melt and flowers start to bloom. Summer is fast approaching and for the majority of Canadians, we cannot wait!

Tax Time

Spring also signifies that Tax Season is in full swing. We hear the advertisements on the radio, television, read them in the newspapers and see them on our favorite websites. The advertisements are generated by Accountants and companies producing tax software. Most Canadians do not like paying taxes and hate filing their taxes annually. They procrastinate and put off their tax filing until the very last minute on the annual deadline of April 30.

Most Canadians are employed in a full-time job and are limited to the amount of tax deductions they can take advantage of. W
